Future airport of Bogota El Dorado II

The Colombian National Agency for Infrastructures (Agencia Nacional de Infraestructuras de Colombia) has awarded SENER, as part of a joint venture, the contract for specialized technical supervising the studies on the future airport of Bogota El Dorado II, which is located between the municipalities of Facatativá and Madrid. It will have, in the first stage, a capacity of 11 million passengers a year, and it is expected to reach 30 million passengers a year at the end of stage 3.

Due to this contract, SENER will supervise from the designs to the technical structuring the project, in parallel to its financial closure. It will also be in charge of defining the technical, environmental, social and risk-related components required for the future concession of the airport’s construction, commercial exploitation and operation.

SENER has been present in Colombia since the 90s’, and it opened its first office in the country in 2013, from which it has coordinated different projects such as the metro of Bogota and the works for El Dorado and El Café airports. SENER has also been awarded in the country the Master Plans for the Network of Airports of the region of Orinoquía.
