SENER is performing a turnkey Engineering, Procurement and Construction (EPC) contract for Cryonfra–Afranrent–Mexico’s largest industrial and medicinal gas producer– for a cogeneration plant that will have a combined gas turbine/steam turbine electrical generation capacity of 142.8 MW, generating a normal operating flow of 46,447 kgph at a (saturated) steam pressure of 2.08 bar for use in the company’s production processes. The facility is located in Coatzacoalcos, Veracruz, where SENER has built two cogeneration units for the CYDSA Group and a third unit for Alpek. The project concluded its commissioning and final testing phase in November 2016 and commercial operations began in December –two months ahead of the schedule in the contract– with the satisfaction of having performed the entire contract with internal personnel, boasting 1,250.000 labor hours without accidents.
